"How Things Are"

I sit and wonder by a star,
of magic things , near and far,
Of why the sun comes up each day,
and shines its pleasant warm, bright ray.
And how the moon takes the night,
and gives us comfort with its light.
And why the little blue birds sing,
Alerting all it's time for spring.
Of peaceful rivers running by,
and mountains stretching to the sky,
Of oceans wide, and valleys low,
and where does the east wind blow,
How the flowers know to bloom,
Letting fly their sweet perfume.
I sit and wonder by the stars,
and praise God for how things are.
